How it works

Three steps. Zero friction.

Forget searching for foods one by one, weighing portions or entering codes. Calegg understands your dishes the way you see them.

  1. Take a photo

Open the camera in the app or on the web and shoot. A dish at home, at a restaurant or a quick snack.

  2. AI analyzes it

Identifies each ingredient, estimates the portion and calculates kcal + macros + processing level. You can edit if something's off.

  3. Review and save

Adjust anything you need and save your meal. Review your history and discover patterns over time.

AI estimates, you review. Ingredients and quantities may need adjusting.

Frequently asked questions

All clear?

Clear answers about analysis, privacy and pricing.

Can I use Calegg on iPhone?
Yes. You can sign up and use Calegg in your iPhone or iPad browser. No app download is needed. The native iOS version is not available yet.
Can I edit the analysis?
AI estimates the ingredients and quantities in the photo. You can edit the name, ingredients, and quantities, and indicate what percentage you consumed. It may be wrong, especially with sauces or hidden ingredients, and is not a substitute for advice from a medical professional.
What happens with my photos?
Your photos are processed to provide the analysis using the providers described in our privacy policy, including AI services. Read the policy for details on data processing and your rights. Read the privacy policy →
Does it work for home-only / restaurant-only eating?
It works for both. Recognition is trained on cooked dishes, so photos of served portions work better than loose ingredients.
Can I analyse drinks with a photo?
Yes. Calegg can analyse a drink in a photo and detect food and drink separately when they appear together. You can correct quantities. Drinks added from the manual catalogue use no AI analysis or credits; photo analysis does use credits. A photo cannot precisely determine volume or alcohol by volume.
Does it work offline?
AI analysis needs a connection. But you can take the photo without signal and Calegg will process it when you're back online.
How much does it cost and can I cancel?
Start with welcome credits, with no payment card. Once used, you can still view your history and choose a credit pack or subscription to keep analysing. Cancel renewal at any time and keep paid access until the end of the billing period.
